I was just laughing about the lack of development in the TechCrunch $200 tabletproject since the last round of grainy photos. It was wrong of me to do and I’m sorry. This morning I woke up to see that the TechCrunch guys have put together one hell of a second prototype! The thing has a browser on top of Linux (and nothing else), a camera and an accelerometer. The video is pretty cool even if the UI interaction seems a little bit choppy. They freely admit that the screen isn’t very nice and I’m surely wondering if the on-screen keyboard (possibly borrowed from GNOME which is a problem) might need to be tweaked somehow. Still, the thing plays flash like a dream and the demos of watching video and such are too good to be true.
